These two Manchester United midfielders are ready to negotiate a new contract

Two Manchester United midfielders from Spain, Juan Mata and Ander Herrera, reportedly immediately negotiated with the management of Red Devils regarding their new contract.

The second contract will expire at the end of this season. In addition, Anthony Martial, David de Gea and Ashley Young are also in the final year of their respective contracts.

On Monday (12/11), Sky Sports News reported that Manchester United were discussing with Young about his new contract which would last another year. And after negotiating with Young, it is estimated that Manchester United will start negotiating with Mata and Herrera.

Mata, who joined from Chelsea in 2014, last had a one-year contract extension which was activated in January. The 30-year-old has started five times out of 12 Premier League matches this season, and he scored one goal in Manchester United’s 3-2 win over Newcastle.

While Herrera has been a starter twice, and played from the bench on four occasions. Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Fred and Marouane Fellaini are players who appear more often than themselves.

The 29-year-old has been linked with Athletic Bilbao last summer, but in August he reaffirmed his desire to stay at Old Trafford.

“I will try to give everything in every training session and every match to be eligible for a new contract. After that, we have to talk to the club and we will see. The contract will not come if I don’t give my best. When you play for one of the top five clubs in the world, you don’t want to go. You want to survive as long as possible, “Herrera said.

After the international break Jose Mourinho’s troops will face Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on November 24. Mourinho is known to be unhappy with the international break because it often ends with injury to his players. This time he hopes that Manchester United players can be free from injury.
