Xherdan Shaqiri had a pretty good career start with Liverpool. However, Shaqiri said there would still be many things he could contribute to the Reds.
Since being bought from Stoke City last summer, Shaqiri has scored two goals and two assists in eight Premier League appearances for the Reds this season. The Swiss passport player gave a pretty good impression to Liverpool supporters.
“Of course I’m sure there are more goals to come,” Shaqiri said.
“It will always be better if you have better players around you. [It will always be better] if you can be more offensive, if you know that you will definitely have more possession than your opponent. ”
“But you also have to be prepared to train hard every day. I feel good, I’m fit, and I’m trying to give my best every time I get a chance. ”
Liverpool look like Bayern Munich
Shaqiri once won the Champions League title in 2013 when he was still strengthening Bayern Munich. According to the 27-year-old player, Liverpool had the intensity of attacking like Bayern in 2013.
“I played at Bayern Munich with Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben so I already knew what it felt like,” Shaqiri said.
“It’s not new. I already know how good this very talented player is. Because there are different coaches, they play different types of football but the intensity is the same at Liverpool as at Bayern Munich. ”
“Comparing the team is certainly very difficult,” concluded Shaqiri.
Xherdan Shaqiri is currently in Switzerland to strengthen the country’s national team in the face of matches in the UEFA Nations League and friendly matches.
